50% Of the Proceeds of any sale of the #CF Warrior Shirts will go to Cystic Fibrosis
Canadians living with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) cannot access drugs that could give them their lives.
Statistics show that 1 in 3600 people are born with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) in Canada.
My daughter, Katie (in front), living with CF, has been a tireless warrior all her life pursuing her dreams and passions of healing animals, doing meaningful work, contributing to society. Now, without access to these new drugs (which have been promised to her by her doctors at Sick Children's Hospital as a near reality for the past 25 years), she cannot live fully. Without these drugs and better treatment options her future is uncertain and she continues to struggle to just eat and breathe.
Life-changing medications like Trikafta are currently available in other countries. In Canada they are still unavailable to those who desperately need it. Cystic fibrosis sufferers have to be near the end stage of their disease just to be considered for a compassionate care plea. We are losing these young people while they wait. We need our government, Health Canada, and the pharmaceutical company, Vertex, to help us speed up approval of the use of Trikafta in Canada. Let's get Trikafta approved in Canada - research in the US and other developed nations shows it works and is a miracle drug. We need it now. Trikafta, not only stabilizes CF but can improve lung capacity. Vastly improving the quality and length of approx. 90% of people living with CF. If the USA can get approval in 90 days, Canada can too!
Stop stalling Canada - the clock is ticking for Canadians suffering with Cystic Fibrosis. Let's find a way as a country to get this medication to Canadians who need it - like my daughter, Katie. With every purchase of a shirt, a portion of the proceeds will go to Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
You can really help by signing and sharing this petition to our Canadian Government, Health Canada, and our Minister of Health, trying to bring awareness to the fight. Please sign and share! Every signature counts and you can help show our children that Canada cares.
Be a cystic fibrosis warrior and purchase an art shirt with black art print on either a white or grey t-shirt in either a men's, unisex or women's tank top. Front side print only on white, pink or grey only. With the sale of any shirt a donation will be made to cystic fibrosis Canada.
Be a cystic fibrosis warrior and purchase a two-sided colour art shirt or tank top printed on a variety of fabric colours (see samples at the bottom of the page). Printed with full colour art on the front and the hashtags #cfwarrior #cystic fibrosis #cfgetloud #cdnhealth #trikafta now on the back.
My art shirt designs are inspired by my daughter Katelyn, and other Canadians, currently suffering with cystic fibrosis. Cystic fibrosis (CF) is the most common fatal genetic disease affecting Canadian children and young adults. At present, there is no cure. The degree of cystic fibrosis severity differs from person to person, however, the persistence and ongoing destruction of lungs and the inability to digest fats will eventually lead to death in the majority of people with CF. It is estimated that one in every 3,600 children born in Canada has CF.
More than 4,300 Canadian children, adolescents, and adults currently live with cystic fibrosis in Canada.
The owl represents the change our Canadian healthcare system should make by granting the use of Trikafta in Canada. This drug could shield 90% of CF Warriors from this disease progression and save them from drowning. Together we can build awareness of our warriors plight and show them we support #therighttobreathe and to get #Trikaftanow into Canada. Let's make my fantasy art a reality.
